Amazon Reports
In this video, I walk you through the Pentagon Connect Amazon Reports, highlighting how we can automate the generation of various reports from Amazon, including the settlement report and merchant listing report. These reports can be scheduled based on specific date intervals, such as every day or every week, and will be dropped onto an FTP server for easy access. I emphasize that this automation eliminates the need for manual report requests, allowing us to efficiently cross-check our internal sales data with Amazon's reports. I encourage you to utilize these automated reports to streamline our processes and improve our data accuracy. Thank you for your attention!
Supported reports
On top of Pentagon Connect's internal reports, Amazon Reports lets you request and generate reports natively from Amazon without leaving the platform. Currently supported report types are:
- Settlement report
- Merchant listing report
- Sales performance report
- Product returns report
Automating report generation
Every report type can be automated, so there's no need to log into Amazon each day to request one. Two scheduling options are available:
- Rolling date interval — e.g. generate a merchant listing report covering the last 48 hours, running every day, every evening, or every two days.
- Fixed date range — specify a start and end date, e.g. generate a merchant listing report covering the last three months, running every Monday.
Generated reports are dropped onto an FTP server for retrieval. Every request is logged with a timestamp and the report's external Amazon report ID, so you can always see exactly when a report was requested and what it covered.
What the reports are used for
- Merchant listing report — can be used to automatically add products into Pentagon Connect.
- Settlement report — used to cross-check against Pentagon Connect's internal sales data, to reconcile commissions and profit.
The goal is that everything relating to Amazon reporting sits inside Pentagon Connect — there's no need to separately log into Amazon to request, schedule, or download a report.
